US Foreign Policy: Back Dictators

Why does it seem that the US only backs democracy when it's convenient? We may talk a good game about wanting to spread freedom around the world, as long as it doesn't challenge the dictators we like. In fact the weapons used to combat the protesters were provided by our government. When will the United States stop backing despots?

A word of advice for Hosni Mubarak. Don't get in any helicopters when you do leave.

A Steeler's Perspective - Ken Rice

Former WISC News Anchor Ken Rice joins me from Pittsburgh where he now does the news at KDKA-TV. We hear about how packer fans stack up to steeler fans and what's the buzz in Pittsburgh.

Taco Bell's Meaty Problem

A lawsuit has been filed against Taco Bell for marketing their taco meat as beef when it allegedly only contains about 40% animal. I don't know about you but when I eat meat I want it to be ALL meat.

Tampa Mother Snaps

Tampa mother Julie Schenecker, who lives in a gated-community, evidently snapped because she shot her two teenage children because they were "mouthy". Obviously this mom is a loon but I do believe there is a teachable moment here. How do you casually bring up this story up to scare your own teens into being perfect children?

Kleefisch On Hannity

I thought when I apologized to Lt. Governor Kleefisch that this feigned outrage from right wing talkers would be over. Well Ms. Kleefisch rehashed the controversy by appearing on Sean Hannity's show last night. Now it seems that my apology, which she accepted and called sincere on Charlie Sykes' show, was not adequate.

What's really more offensive- my remarks or what they've done with my remarks?

Egypt Erupts

When Bush, Cheney, and Rumsfeld were giving their case for war in Iraq, they said that this would bring democracy to the entire reign. They also accused anti-war advocates as sympathetic to Saddam Hussein and other despots. Now that there is a push from the people of Egypt to democratize, the U.S. government is standing behind the dictator! Why aren't we encouraging freedom in Egypt? Sadly the answer is obvious.

Dane County Executive Candidate Joe Wineke

Former State Rep. & Senator Joe Wineke joins me to talk about the forum held last night for Dane County executive candidates. We'll get into the big issues at that debate and what Joe feels should be the top priorities for Dane County's Chief Executive.

Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett - Fight Against Infant Mortality

Mayor Tom Barrett is on the live line to talk about the high infant mortality rate in his city of Milwaukee and what he is doing to reverse this startling trend. Barrett also comments on the redistricting shenanigans state republicans are up to and how changes in shared revenue will effect cities across Wisconsin.

Could You Forgive?

Dante Beasley got drunk one night and when his girlfriend refused to have sex with him, he shot her 9 times and then turned the gun on their two small children. Mr. Beasley just got sentenced to 25 years for this heinous crime but his girlfriend has come to his defense saying she, "still loves him" and that he's "a good father". I'm having a hard time understand this. Could you ever forgive someone who attacked you and your children?

Lori Wallach - Obama Sells Out On Trade

President Obama made free trade a central part of his state of the union address and often directly contradicted what he promised on the campaign trade. Even by the his own numbers this is bad for American jobs and it literally incentives outsourcing. I kept asking myself during the speech, "why is he doing this"? We find out why from Public Citizen's Lori Wallach.

The Korea Free Trade Agreement can still be stopped!

Contact Rep. Ron Kind and tell him to support American Jobs and vote NO on this pending trade deal.

MSNBC Wants To Grab Your Gun

The tribe at MSNBC were caught up in a tizzy because President Obama neglected to mention gun control during his state of the union address. This is where my liberal brethren and I part ways. Isn't MSNBC's demagoguery on guns exactly the same as FOX stirring up their own culture wars?

Bachmann's History

Michelle Bachmann, like other tea part advocates, plays fast and loose with the facts about the founding of our nation. We can be proud of our heritage without rewriting it. Liberal yakker Chris Matthews wondered if Republicans operate under the mafia code of omertà (code of silence) when dealing with habitual liars like Michelle Bachmann. I'm starting to think they do.

What Would Vince Say?

Packer's linebacker Clay Matthews has signed a deal with Sauve to start doing shampoo commercial with that famous hair of his. What do you think Vince Lombardi would say to the Claymaker about this endorsement?

New Holstein Teacher Worked In Madison

The suspended Superintendent of the New Holstein School District was arrested last week for soliciting sex from what he thought was a 15 year old boy. Well now the Madison School District is taking some heat for not letting the New Holstein School District know that he was asked to resigned because he was looking at porn at work. Can you really blame Madison for this?

Obama The Sell Out

Did you watch President Obama's State of the Union?I did and it made me sick. If there was any uncertainty that this President is your garden variety corporatist, his address to Congress last night quelled any lingering doubts. Obama lied to us. He campaigned on correcting unfair trade deals, ending the Bush tax cuts, ending the wars, and supporting working people. He's gone back on his promises to win over the Wall Street crowd and independents. I'm sad to report that it's working.

Hannity Goes After Skins

Sean Hannity is appalled and disgusted by MTV's new show Skins, which features high school kids dealing with "real life situations" (i.e. sex and drugs). The show has been heavily criticized, some even saying it may even violate child pornography laws.

Sean Hannity, who doesn't swim shirtless in his own pool, thinks this contributes to our "over-sexualized" culture and wants this filth off the air. Is this art imitating life or just smut? And it is really a revelation that teens use drugs and have sex?

Subzero Lowers Wages

Subzero is staying in Wisconsin but it comes at a high cost to workers. I speak to Dave Goodspeed from Sheet Metal Workers Local Union 565 (they represent Subzero's workers) about how their agreement with management to secure their jobs till 2019 comes at a 20% wage cut. Scott Walker wants to give tax credits to businesses in Wisconsin but shouldn't the workers whose wages have been permanently lowered get some relief?

Sheriff Mahoney - The Rise In Officer Deaths

Dane County Sheriff Mahoney joins me to talk about the shocking rise of law enforcement officers killed in the line of duty. This has even touched law enforcement in Dane County and we hear what the Sheriff does to protect his deputies.

Milwaukee Talk Radio Mocks Infant Mortality Concerns

Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett is deeply troubled by the very high infant mortality in his city and he wants to do something about it. How did Milwaukee talk radio respond? Well at least on Charlie Sykes' show, he and his listeners blamed welfare and liberals while belittling the mayor's efforts. This is a symptom of our broken health care system and blaming "liberal policies" is not only factual incorrect but it doesn't solve this disturbing trend.

Super Sized Lawsuit

A Sacramento mother is suing McDonald's because they market Happy Meals to children and lure them in with toys. She can't say no to her snotty little kids so she's filing a lawsuit. I think this mother has offered enough proof that she does not have the ability to control her kids, should they take them away?

Rick Santorum: Abortion The Same As Slavery

Former Pennsylvania Senator Rick Santorum is comparing abortion to slavery. He agrees that slaves weren't recognizes as people and either are fetuses. Santorum even said Obama has a special obligation to save unborn babies because "he's a black man". Did Santorum deliberately use Barack Obama's race against him?

Ron Johnson: Put America In A Straight Jacket

What's Ron Johnson's solution to solving the debt crisis? Put a straight jacket on the American public. Sounds like Johnson is blaming YOU for our financial woes. What exactly do you think Johnson meant by "straight jacket"?

Politicians like Ron Johnson & Paul Ryan want Social Security privatized because it is the last pot of money that Wall St. doesn't have their greedy little hands on.

Packer Tie

A Chicago car salesman has been fired for not removing his Packer tie on the day after Green Bay's big win over the Bears. John Stone was told by his boss more than once to remove his Packer's tie but Stone thought he was kidding. Did this car salesman deserve to be canned?

Rules For Packer News

Get ready for two weeks of pointless local news stories about the Packers going to the Superbowl. Our local TV news stations are very good at filling their newscasts with boring stories about how malls are selling Packer T-Shirts. This needs to change so we come up with some ground rules for what qualifies as actual Packer News.

Vicki & Dick - Re-Educating America

Dick Morris and Vicki McKenna are teaming up to tell their loyal band of conservatives in Waukesha about how giving public resources to private charter schools is a great idea. These two could give a damn about educating children, this about hawking their wares to an easy audience. What question about education would you ask this delightful pair?

Scott Paul - Obama Cozies Up To Wall Street

Fervent capitalists on both sides of the aisle are applauding Obama for appointing General Electric CEO Jeff Immelt to chair the new Council on Jobs and Competitiveness. This may give Obama cred with the Wall Street crowd but GE has outsourced more jobs than just about any American corporation.

Scott Paul from the Alliance for American Manufacturing joins me to talk about why this is not good for working people or our the economy.
