Unpatriotic Condo Associations

Zain Woodring wanted to celebrate his freedom this Independence Day by flying Old Glory from an empty flag pole outside his condo. Well the West Towne Condo Association not only confiscated his flag but they ripped out the flag pole. This confirms my long held belief that Madison's condo associations are the most unpatriotic group of citizens in town.

China Cheating Again

Wisconsin's paper industry is in trouble because China is illegally subsidizing the energy of their paper companies in order to flood the market with cheap paper. The Wall Street Journal cries socialism when they hear about the United States "protecting" American workers yet fully supports China's outright theft of our jobs. Even if you support the awful trade policies which have destroyed our manufacturing sector, shouldn't China at least have to follow those rules?

Highlander Motor Inn

STEVE APPS - State Journal

The City of Madison is cracking down on the owners of the Highlander Motor Inn, which has been a hot spot for violent drug activity and prostitution. I understand why the neighbors of the Highlander want some action but won't shutting down this motel just push the problem to another part of town?

Cartoons Used To Get Kids To Eat Healthy

The Vidalia Onion industry is hoping Shrek will boast onion sales among children. Do you think a cartoon could make your kid eat food they don't like? My guess is NO.

Seattle Hates Guns

The City of Seattle doesn't like guns and is trying to ban them wherever families and children frequent. This might very well be struck down in lieu of the freedom enhancing Supreme Court decision made this week. Seems logical to me that you would want law abiding citizens to carry guns so they can protect children.

Mayor Dave Cieslewicz

Mayor Dave is on the live line to explain what's happening with the Overture's debt resolution agreement and why bikers in Madison are held in such high esteem. We also talk about the devastating consequences for Madison if Scott Walker is elected Governor.

Supreme Court Ruling Extends Freedom

You may not of even noticed but you woke up with more freedom today. The Supreme Court has finally affirmed the right for all Americans to own hand guns in a 5-4 decision that overturned the draconian handgun ban in Chicago. Are we a better nation this morning than we were yesterday?

Republican Senate Candidate Dave Westlake

Senate candidate Dave Westlake responds to the bribery and ballot tampering allegations made by Terrence Wall against fellow republican Ron Johnson. We also talk about gun legislation in Wisconsin following the Supreme Court's landmark decision to extend 2nd amendment rights to all citizens.

The Meal Of Mass Destruction

Friendly's new Grilled Cheese Burger Melt is raising concerns with the food nazi tribe. This burger sports a 1,500 calorie count, 97 grams of fat, and a days worth of sodium. Some are saying it is unfair to tempt people with the all that addictive sugar, fat, and salt but is it the restaurant's responsibility to dictate what their patrons eat?

Sympathy For Animals Gets People Killed

A Canadian woman was driving down the highway when she stopped suddenly for some ducklings who were trying to navigate across the road. A father and daughter crashed into the back of her vehicle on their motorcycle, killing them both. No word on whether the ducklings lived.

Now think of the folks who are against killing geese at the airport. Will it take a bird flying into a jet engine above Truax to convince them that misplaced sympathy for animals gets PEOPLE killed?

Terrence Wall Aftermath

WTDY News Director Zack Stein joins me to talk about how his interview with former senate candidate Terrence Wall has caught national attention. We get the back story from Stein and talk about why the Johnson campaign is blaming "liberal talk radio" for the strange dealings going on within the Republican party.

Mary Bottari On Financial Reform Legislation

Mary Bottari from banksterusa.org joins me to talk about the pending financial reform legislation. We get the scoop on what's in the bill, why it doesn't go far enough, and why Wall Street continues to prosper off the backs of the American people.

G20 Protesters

The streets of Toronto were plagued with violence over the G20 economic summit. I'm also against our current global trade arrangements but I don't think that's justification for burning squad cars and destroying businesses. This kind of hooliganism is counterproductive to their message and paints the protesters as hypocrites.

Peggy West Just One Example Of Ignorant Politicians

Milwaukee County District Supervisor Peggy West made national news for saying that Arizona is a long way from the Mexican border during a failed proposal to boycott business with Arizona over its immigration law. That's obviously a stupid thing to say but in the political world Peggy West is a zero. What are some of the dumbest, ignorant thing political heavyweights have said over the years?

Update: Regent Egg Toss Back On

I reported last week about how the annual egg toss was being canceled at the Regent Neighborhood's Fourth of July party, glad to report its BACK ON! The debate still rages on however and you won't believe the latest reasoning on why kids shouldn't have an egg toss during this neighborhood shindig.

Terrence Wall Accuses Ron Johnson Of Corruption and Ballot Tampering

Former Senate candidate Terrence Wall is making allegations against his former opponent Ron Johnson, that if true, could bring criminal charges. Wall says Johnson bribed and cajoled delegates and tampered with ballots during the Republican State convention in Milwaukee. In other words, voter fraud. Listen to clips from WTDY News Director Zack Stein's exclusive interview with Terrence Wall in the podcast below.

USW President Leo Gerard

United Steel Workers President Leo Gerard is on the live line to talk about the current fight in the labor movement and why we need to make things in America in order to pull ourselves out of this recession and prevent another one.

Republicans Complain About Illegals When They Brought Them Here

Republicans are going nuts over a PSA put out by the Labor Department advocating for fair payment for illegal workers. I am so sick of conservatives complaining about illegal immigration when it their very trade policy that brought them here in the first place. Workers, even if they are here illegally, still deserve to be paid an honest wage.

Al Gore: Sex Machine

Allegations are surfacing that Al Gore groped and sexually harassed a masseuse in a Portland hotel back in 2006. The victim says she even called Gore a "crazed sex poodle" during the incident. Gore is not known for his smoothness, so we come up with some possible pick up line for the former Vice President.

U.S. Senator Russ Feingold

Sen. Feingold is on the live line, we discuss how he is helping to create jobs in our State, his opponents plan to cut taxes for the rich and huge corporations, and why the war in Afghanistan is undermining effects to go after Al Qaeda around the world.

No Rest For Obama

President Obama is being criticized for just about everything including his supposed "vacations" which includes any event at night, staying one night in Chicago on Memorial Day, and going to a baseball game on Father's Day. Do you honestly believe that Obama is lazy and not paying attention to the problems this nation faces?

Petraeus Will Not Win Afghan War

President Obama had to fire Gen. McChrystal but replacing him with Gen. Petraeus squandered an opportunity to finally accept the reality of Afghanistan. Even the most ardent supporters of the war admit that anything that could be defined as "victory" will at least take a decade with far more American causalities and tens of billions more in treasure. Afghanistan is a huge distraction from the war on terror and its time to face facts.

Flipper Is Dead

If you listened to FOX News discuss the off-shore drilling moratorium you'd think everything is just fine in the Gulf, no need to stop or rethink safety precautions and procedures. After seeing Flipper dead on the beach, how could anyone think we should just continue with the regulations the oil industry wrote themselves? Even our two Republican Senate candidates want to see drilling not just deep in the ocean but in the Great Lakes as well.

Is Pig Wrestling A Crime?

In this week's Isthmus, Bill Lueders sides with the Alliance for Animals rights activists that think pig wrestlin' is morally and even criminally wrong. They are worried that the more pig might be embarrassed by the situation. If we can eat pigs, why shouldn't we be able to wrestle them?

No More Egg Toss In The Regent Neighborhood

It was a fourth of July tradition in the Regent neighborhood to host an egg toss for the local children. Well after concerns that they were teaching the kids a bad lesson by wasting food while people are starving around the world, this innocent childhood fun has come to an end. How exactly does tossing an egg back and forth make kids insensitive to world hunger?

Sad Meals

The new battle against kids having fun is banning toys from Happy Meals. Proponents of the ban say the toys and the colorful packaging attracts children to unhealthy food. Let's come up with a Sad Meal so kids feel terrible after they eat their chicken McNuggets.
