A Message From Madison

Monday night I will debating three conservative talk radio hosts in a room full of righties in Waukesha. These people listen to talk radio and FOX news all day, which just reinforces their own narrow minded views. It is almost unheard of now to have an actual debate on the radio anymore. What message should I pass along to these ardent Republicans?

Sex In The Park

After decades of attempts and thousands of dollars spent, people are still having sex at Olin-Turville Park. Is it time to just shut down it down? What is wrong with people!

Hockey Talk with Ben Larson

Cheeseheadtalk Sports Guy Ben Larson joins me to talk hockey. He even calls me a traitor for rooting for Canada.

Check out Ben's Videocast

Health Care Summit

The Health Care Summit at the Blair House was more of the same- Republicans saying NO and Democrats going along with it. Right now in this country we have a minority party that is setting the agenda and they want insurance companies to keep their monopoly. You happy with the status quo?

Teacher Bashing

Teacher bashing is in vogue as of late. Even the ultra-liberal Isthmus ran a cover story on how hard it is to fire teachers. Truth is the vast majority of Madison teachers work hard under very difficult conditions. The average teachers spends a grand of their own pay on school supplies. Former teacher and school board member Marj Passman joins me to add some perspective on how we should evaluate our teachers and how to solve this budget mess.

The Governor's Plane

The Governor loves to fire up his State Plane and take it to... Milwaukee? Baldy is a lot better than King Tommy and I understand he's a busy man but its 70 miles!!! Since our next Governor will most likely be from Milwaukee, I want promises from both Walker and Barrett that they won't use State planes as a shuttle to Milwaukee.

Canadian Hockey Celebration

The IOC is investigating an impromptu celebration on the ice by the Gold-Medal winning Canadian Women's Hockey team. Athletes are still human and should be allowed to kickback and enjoy their hard won victory.

Waterloo Residents Trainphobic

There is a hate train happening on high speed rail. Waterloo residents were bitching and moaning about trains connecting their town to the rest of the region yesterday. Its as if trains are some sort of new, radical invention. While trains come with some complications, are they a net plus or minus for the State?

Republicans LOVE Insurance Companies

New York Congressman Anthony Weiner said it best on the House floor, "the Republican Party is a wholly owned subsidiary of the insurance industry." How can we ever afford health care when these insurance monopolies keep making record profit. You want to talk about socialism, this corporate socialism. If the Democrats want to get the American people back on their side, they need to follow Weiner's lead.

Marty Beil - State Pensions Under Attack

Scott Walker and right-wing radio want to blame State pensions for the budget mess despite Wisconsin having one of the best run pension programs in the country. State employees make lower wages in exchange for a secure but modest retirement and its saves taxpayer money in the long run. We talk to AFSCME Council 24 President Marty Beil and take your calls.

Tony The Twister

Balloon Artist Tony the Twister is going away for a long, long time. We come up with some ironic fates for this sick clown.

Killer Whale

Whales should be in the ocean and Seaworld needs to be shutdown! What do you expect when you keep a 12,000 pound animal in a bathtub?

Is Health Care Reform Back-Door Reparations?

When a white Mormon like Mitt Romney passed a health care bill in Massachusetts, no opponents were calling it class warfare or repatriations. When Obama, a black Muslim A-Rab, pushes for a similar bill its socialism.

T. Wall

Terrence Wall went after Russ Feingold's "value system" on some christian TV show out of Milwaukee (clip above) and said he will bring "honesty" to Senate. Terrence has been open about all the loopholes he's used to avoid State income taxes. What other qualities does Mr. Wall possess that Feingold is missing.

Toyota, STILL No Solution

After weeks of saying they had everything figure out, Toyota's North American President admitted that they have not solved the problem entirely. We hear righties complain about lawyers all the time but don't they provide a check to corporate malfeasance?

Planned Parenthood Pranksters

A pro-life group is playing the gotcha game with a Planned Parenthood clinic in Milwaukee. The group Live Action sent a woman, pretending to be a 14 year old, to a Planned Parenthood where she said her 31 year old boyfriend impregnated her. State laws requires clinics to report abuse but they couldn't in this case because the impostors refused to provide a name. Would you want Planned Parenthood to call the authorities if your daughter was in this situation?

Cockfighting

Kentucky has a storied cockfighting history and I say let the hillbillies have their fun. We do eat chickens you know.

Early Release

Releasing prisoners early for good behavior might be a valuable incentive but when you do it solely to save money it causes problems. Like how does it save money if your only shifting a State penitentiary problem onto cities like Milwaukee?

The Trouble With Toyotas

Somehow it just got a lot worse for Toyota and its becoming clear that U.S. safety regulators allowed dangerous cars to remain on the road. This is another example of how the revolving door between government and corporate America is ultimately failing both taxpayers and consumers.

Pedestrian Friendly

A Target will fill that big hole at Hilldate and its had hardly any opposition, a rare event in the City of the Perpetually Offended. When thing that caught my eye, Ald. Chris Schmidt isn't concerned with vehicular traffic just as long as its "pedestrian friendly". Looks like another Alder has fallen in with the keesh crowd.

Don't Send In The Clowns

I kid you not, Clowns Without Borders has descended on Haiti. Haven't the Haitian children suffered enough?

Senator Mellencamp

We talk to John Patterson who has organized a facebook campaign to encourage John Mellencamp to run for Bayh's U.S. Senate seat in Indiana. Help get a progressive into the Senate.

Hey Madison Schools, Quit Wasting MONEY

The School Districts wants to spend $80,000 to "market" itself to help keep and attract students despite their $30 million budget hole. Our schools are toothpaste that should be peddled to the masses. Put that $80,000 toward educating and maybe that'll keep kids from fleeing to the burbs.

Mascots

Seems like we've been having this fight for decades now but the State legislature is debating a law that would fine schools with "racial" mascots. I still miss the Braves.

Alexander Haig

Haig will forever be remembered for being "in charge" after the attempted assassination of President Reagan, a quote that cost him his job. What other famous folks will be remembered by one, usually unfortunate, moment? " I did not have....sexual relations.... with that woman."

The Dan Potacke Show

I'll be on the Dan Potacke Show tonight at 7pm, so come watch me cause a train wreck. I talk to the creator of Dan Potacke, Alan Talaga, a funny young comedian who hosts this unique live talk show. Should be good, see you tonight at the Frequency!

If Wal-Mart Ran The Government

The people at Fox thinks Wal-Mart could do a better job running the Federal government. What would the Government of Wal-Mart do to make all the righties get all tingly in their nethers?

USA, USA, USA!!!

Are you sick of all this Olympic Medal count bragging? The individual athletes deserve respect but why must we constantly be patting ourselves on the back. It does not bode well for our reputation around the world.
